The Overberg Crane Group has a new Chair. Keir Lynch, project manager at the Overberg Lowlands Conservation Trust (ORCT) was nominated as the new Chair at a recent OCG meeting.

Aside from his role as project manager at the Trust, Keir is also representing the OCG as its field officer. The two organisations teamed up in an innovative partnership, to use conservation resources efficiently to support the conservation of the Overberg’s many threatened birds, and the habitat they live in.

He previously worked in the conservation management sector for a number of private nature reserves. Before joining the ORCT, he served in CapeNature’s Biodiversity Stewardship Programme.

Keir replaces Mick D’Alton, who had been chair since 2006. Mick remains on the board as a committee member.
